In August 1926, fire destroyed most of the village. Luckily no lives were taken, although every family suffered great lost. 80 years later, the Historical Society, created a remembrance pathway along Main St to recall the beauty of the houses before the fire and the devastation afterwards.
In all, 15 bilingual interpretive signs were installed, 5 of which have audio.
